Every Wyer & Co. landscape is a unique response to people and place. We consider the environment, ecologies, and what has come before, balanced with a vision of what will come after —how the space will be utilised more beautifully, or more effectively, to gather, dwell, entertain or retreat.

Many of your projects are abundant with a variety of different plants and greenery. How important do you think biodiversity is in both residential and commercial spaces?

Biodiversity is central to the success of any garden design. To every landscape we apply a deep knowledge of horticulture and ecologies, as well as an understanding of the Australian lifestyle and climate. The challenge lies in specifying a plant palette that is both appropriate and cohesive.

How important is utilizing the existing natural infrastructure of an outdoor space? I noticed in your gorgeous Boulder House project that you took that as a feature of the home’s design?

A well—designed garden should sit comfortably within its environment, and the sandstone boulder at Boulder House is a great example of how a design can incorporate and enhance the existing natural infrastructure. Over time, this beautiful natural element has become the keystone for the entire garden design, informing structural and material decisions alike.
